Pursuit Ends under Golden Arches

News_100928_BrokenArchPursuit_Mav-12.JPGSacramento, CA  | There’s one less empty bed at Sacramento County Jail after a high-speed pursuit ended Tuesday evening, at the McDonalds at Power Inn Rd. and Fruitridge.  California Highway Patrol booked a male subject who fled after stealing a pickup.

DUI driver leads CHP on pursuit ending under the "Golden Arches"

Sacramento Police and Sheriff both joined the pursuit which reached speeds of 80+ miles per hour and ended up hitting the McDonalds sign, another vehicle and filling the restaurant parking lot with debris.  CHP booked the subject on felony charges of hit and run, fleeing officers, and driving a stolen vehicle.  More charges may be filed later against the driver.

Suspicious Commercial Trailer Fire in South Sacramento

News_100925_LemonHillTrailerFire_Mav-2.JPGSouth Sacramento, CA  | Early Saturday morning, Sacramento City Fire responded to a call of a commercial vehicle fire on Lemon Hill Ave near Stockton Blvd.

Fire crews arrived to find a trailer behind a Nail Salon Business fully engulfed in flames.  Firefighters worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby water tank,  buildings and vegetation.  A strip mall next to the property was also exposed and crews used their ladder to gain access to the roof of the building to ensure that the flying embers would not cause the fire to spread.

Multi-Vehicle Accident Wakes up Del Paso Heights Residents

According to Sacramento Police, Alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Del Paso Heights, CA | It was the Accident heard ’round Del Paso Heights on Friday night.  Witnesses say a Blue Pickup was speeding down Eleanor Drive when it struck a Grey Dodge SUV injuring the occupants of both vehicles and also striking a parked vehicle on the side of  the road.

Copper Caper in South Sacramento

South Sacramento, CA  | A thief removed copper wire from a live, energized SMUD Power Box behind a South Sacramento Strip Mall early Thursday morning.

The locked electrical box was pryed open and the copper wire was clipped and removed, knocking out power to the businesses on the corner of Stockton Boulevard and Lindale.

South Sacramento residential debris fire

South Sacramento, CA  | Firefighters quickly extinguished a debris fire in front of a South Sacramento home Wednesday morning.

Fire in front of South Sacramento home under investigation.

Sacramento City Fire responded to a report of a structure fire early Wednesday morning in  the 2100 block of Bernard Way.  When firefighters arrived, they found a debris fire next to the front porch of the residence and quickly extinguished the blaze.  The fire was reported by a neighbor who came home and saw the flames.   The witness attempted to wake the residents to no avail by banging on their window.  He stated that the flames were 8 to 10 feet high and lit up the whole front of the house. There were no injuries and no obvious damage to the home.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Intoxicated Barricaded Subject in Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights, CA  | Citrus Heights Police have arrested an armed and Intoxicated subject who barricaded himself in a home  on Farmgate Way in Citrus Heights late Tuesday evening.

The subject armed himself with a gun was uncooperative with authorities.  Citrus Heights Police temporarily evacuated some homes in the area of the home where the subject was barricaded.

Auto vs Pedestrian downtown

Late Monday morning, a pedestrian was hit by the driver of a mini van on 3rd Street at Capital Mall. A witness and area office employee (who did not want to be identified) stated that she wished police would do a sting operation in the area. She stated that she constantly watches cars run red lights and almost hit pedestrians every day.
While this was reported as an Auto/Ped with critical injuries, Paramedic radio report revealed that the pedestrian only suffered a head laceration and some road rash; he also had no recollection of the incident. The victim was transported to UC Davis Medical Center.

Arsonist strikes off Watt and Longview

Sacramento, CA | Arson fires set near equestrian barns.

Firefighters search for evidence of arson where three fires were set in North Highlands area.

Approximately 9:34 PM Sunday evening, CHP receved a 911 call for a fire in the area of Longview Drive and Watt Ave. There were also reports that a fire was burning in brush and headed towards a barn where there were many horses. When firefighters arrived, they found at least three fires that had been started. All fires were quickly extinguished before they reached the barn area. A spokesman for Sac Metro Fire stated that the fires are under investigation. He also stated that the fires were set in succession along a trail but far enough apart where it could only lead to the conclusion of arson.
