Fallen firefighters honored
The sound of bagpipes and drums resonated through Capital Park during the processional and recessional of the California Firefighters memorial.
Sacramento, CA | Thirty-one fallen California firefighters honored Saturday at the California Firefighter Memorial.
Consumnes Firefighter, Richard Ibarra, was among the thirty-one fallen firefighters who were honored today at the California State Firefighters Memorial.
The ceremony took place Saturday at the Firefighters memorial in Capital Park. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger offered remarks in honoring the fallen.
A folded American flag represented each firefighter honored today and was presented to the respective families as the final roll call was made and bell rung. Each firefighter was also represented by a masted flag of their department carried by a fellow firefighter.
