Sacramento, CA | Fire suppression system saved a catering truck business early Friday morning.

Early Friday morning, Sacramento Fire Department respond to a call for a structure fire. When firefighters arrived they discovered a business with many catering trucks under long carport type covers and one catering truck was fully involved with fire.

Per Chief Williams of Sacramento Fire Department, four sprinklers of the fire suppression sprinkler system activated and contained the blaze to just one truck. Had the sprinkler system failed, the outcome could have been much worse.

The business owner told SacMav reporters that he believed one of the catering truck drivers left a coffee pot on in the truck so water would be hot when they started work Friday morning.

BC Williams tells the story…
