Sacramento, CA | An unidentified man is gunned down behind The Palms Apartment on Marconi Ave.
Sacramento Sergent, Tim Curran stated Thursday night that at 8:44 pm deputies were called to The Palms Apartments at 2421 Marconi. When deputies arrived, they found a black male adult in his twenties with a gunshot wound to the head. Curran stated that multiple casings were found in the area and witnesses saw three black male adults flee the area on foot. Read more »

Sacramento, CA | A drunk driver with passengers collides head-on with a Taxi minivan leaving several injured in Midtown early Thursday morning.
At approximately 1:47 am Thursday morning, a black compact car collided head on with a taxi cab minivan at 20th and N Streets in Midtown. Occupants in both vehicles were injured and transported to area hospitals with non threatening injuries, per Sacramento Police department. Read more »

Sacramento, CA | Downtown police on patrol catch a suspicious subject to find out he burglarized a local wireless phone store.
Late Monday night, downtown officers spotted a man running with a purse in his hand and a mask pulled part way over his face. Officers gave chase, the subject dropped the purse he was carrying and he was captured a couple of blocks away on the corner of L St. and 4th St. Read more »

Sacramento, CA | A vehicle veers off the roadway, down an embankment and flips over in a water filled canal, trapping two of the five occupants in the water.
Early Monday morning, a vehicle traveling westbound on west Interstate 80 went off the road and down an embankment just west of Truxel, landing upside down in the canal with water flowing. Read more »

Sacramento, CA | When a Sac State campus officer attempts to make a vehicle stop, the female driver takes off leading officers on a long pursuit.
Late Sunday night, Sac State PD attempted a vehicle stop and when the vehicle fled they discovered it was stolen and gave chase. SacPD took the pursuit over which went all through the South Sac, Freeport, South Landpark, Pocket and Delta regions. Read more »

Sacramento, CA | Semi Truck crashes on Business 80 West, goes off the embankment and lands on its side on Hwy 160 below. While an officer was attempting to clear an initial accident from Business 80 west, a semi truck driver hit another vehicle which hit more vehicles while trying to avoid the initial incident. The semi truck crashed through the guard rail, lost its trailer real wheels on the embankment and landed on its side on Hwy 160 below. The trucks load of powdered milk was dumped all over the roadway. Read more »

Firefighters battle early morning residential fire in Elk Grove.
Elk Grove, CA | Firefighters quickly contain early morning house fire.
Firefighters were called to a report of smoke coming from a home early Wednesday morning in the 8600 block of Mannington St in Elk Grove.
Consumnes and Sacramento fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the back of the home. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the blaze, quickly containing and extinguishing the fire. Read more »

Car thief fooled by bait car. Gets caught after crash. (click image for additional photos)
Sacramento, CA | A car thief gets duped by a bait car in the south area and crashes.
Early Wednesday morning, a car thief stole a bait car (a decoy car set up to trap would car thieves). Law enforcement was alerted to the theft and began moving toward the area where the car was being tracked.
In the end, the thief lead police on a brief pursuit then crashed at a residence on 29th St where he was captured.

SMUD linemen work quickly to restore power to over 4,000 customers between 3 overnight outages (click this image to view more photos)
Sacramento, CA | Early Wednesday morning, law enforcement officers in the South Sacramento area reported seeing the sky light up in the area of Florin Rd. and Florin Perkins Rd. When they got to the area of French Rd. and Elaine Dr., they reported seeing a shower of sparks coming from one of the polls and the area power going out.
SMUD later reported over two thousand customers effected by the outage. SMUD crews worked quickly and had the customers’ power back in service before 2:30 a.m. Read more »
