On Saturday, February 15, 2014, at approximately 2:38 p.m., officers responded to a residence regarding a report of an infant not breathing.
Officers rushed to the home, along with the Sacramento Fire Department who declared the 3-month-old female child deceased at the scene.
The specific circumstances as to how the child passed away were not immediately clear and detectives were called out to assist with the investigation. CSI also responded to assist with documenting the scene. A cause of death is pending the coroner’s investigation. (more…)
911 dispatchers began to receive calls of shots fired in the area of 21st Avenue and 35th Street Tuesday evening, then a call came in that a subject had been shot, said Sergeant David Nasca, Sacramento Police Department.
When officers arrived they found a woman in her 50′s had been shot in the chest. She was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Nasca said. (more…)
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance to locate an at-risk missing female adult; Maria Santa, 39. Maria was last seen yesterday, February 2nd at her residence in the 8100 block of Tommy Circle in Sacramento, CA.
Maria is described as a Romanian female standing 4’9” tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. She has long, straight brown hair, brown eyes and it is unknown what she is wearing. Maria left her residence on foot without advising any family members and is considered to be at-risk due to suspicious and inconsistent patterns in her normal behavior.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Maria is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.

Sacramento police officers were trying to piece together the details of a double shooting incident that occurred Saturday evening in the Shining Star area of South Sacramento.
Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Sacramento police officers and firefighters responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of La Fresa Court. According to unofficial paramedic radio traffic, one victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and a second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper leg. (more…)
The driver of a Corvette was killed and one other person was injured in a two car collision Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of College Town Drive and La Riviera Drive, Officer Doug Morse, spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department said.
The driver of the Corvette was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. (more…)
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fiery crash that claimed two lives early Saturday morning in the Campus Commons area of Sacramento.
When firefighters arrived on the scene of a solo vehicle accident on Howe Ave early Saturday morning, it was already too late for the occupants of the vehicle.
The incident occurred in the median of Howe Ave between American River Drive and Swathmore Drive.
“Officers responded to a solo vehicle collision. The car appeared to have been travelling southbound on Howe Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck a tree in the center divider just south of American River Drive. (more…)
On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Sacramento County Sheriff’s North and Central Problem Oriented Policing teams [aka POP], North Patrol, Work Release and Rancho Cordova Police Officers along with Sacramento County Probation conducted an undercover prostitution sting at several locations along Watt Avenue.
Deputies arrested 11 women, 16 men, and 2 minors for prostitution or prostitution related charges. There were 9 additional arrests for a variety of other criminal charges and outstanding warrants. (more…)
At approximately 7:25pm last night, January 18, 2014, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Communications Center received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding reports of a man who was shot in the courtyard of an apartment complex located in the 4700 block of Marconi Avenue. When Deputies arrived, they began life-saving efforts on the male, who was soon declared deceased at the scene by medical personnel. (more…)
