Firefighters of Engine Company 33 of the Boston Fire Department have been trapped in the basement of a building with active fire. Command lost radio communications with them a short time after they were yelling for water and called a “mayday”. At the this time the fire is at nine alarms. Federal Protective Service officers have just made several arrests in the Midtown area of Sacramento, in the area of J and 17th Streets. We currently have no further details.

A fatal light rail train vs pedestrian incident has occurred near Downtown Sacramento.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Sac Fire crews, medics and SacPD were dispatched to the area of 12th Street and North B for a report of an RT involved incident. According to radio reports, when crews arrived a person was trapped under the train and was soon pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. (more…)
City trash truck hits bicyclist in Midtown
Allegedly, a City of Sacramento trash truck was traveling northbound on 21st St. A bicyclist was also traveling northbound on the west side of 21st.
Just a few blocks from Brown’s Sacramento residence the trash truck turned west onto Capitol Ave. from 21st Street, striking the bicyclist as he was traveling.
This on the heels of the new three-foot passing law, AB1371, coming into effect shortly for California motorists. Governor Brown signed the new bill into law this past September. (more…)
Sacramento Police Bomb Squad prepares robot to check a suspicious device in a downtown apartment.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of H Street early Thursday morning, to check on the welfare of man but wound up calling the bomb squad in.
The family members of a Pacific Islander man contacted the Sacramento Police Department early Thursday morning, concerned for his well being said Lieutenant Dennis Joy, Sacramento Police Department. When officers arrived, the man was not in his apartment. (more…)
Sacramento Sheriff deputies are investigating an at&t Parrot store robbery in the Arden area.
An Arden cellular retail store has been robbed at gunpoint, employees forced into a back room.
An armed suspect, described as a male Hispanic wearing a white hard hat and white t-shirt robbed the at&t Parrot store at gunpoint late Tuesday morning and forced the employees into a back room while he stole several cellular devices. (more…)

Numerous witnesses say they saw a man on top of a bluff about 150 feet above the American River tumble down in a landslide that is estimated to be 20 to 30 feet wide and up to 6 feet deep upstream of the Fair Oaks Bridge around 7:30 p.m Saturday near Folsom.
Rescue crews from Sacramento Metro Fire and the Sacramento Fire Department responded with a helicopter, boats and Drowning Accident Response Team (DART). (more…)

A quiet, sleeping apartment complex in Natomas was awakened to gunfire early Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Bankside Way.
“At approximately 2:18 this morning, the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in an apartment complex at 500 Bankside Way,” said Lieutenant Dennis Joy, Sacramento Police Department. (more…)
Reports and images were pouring in with reports of a massive explosion that occurred, reportedly at a fertilizer plant just outside Waco, TX. Unconfirmed reports came in stating all available EMS crews were being requested to respond. Reports also stated that the explosion was felt from over 60 miles away and was originally thought to be an earthquake. Our live blog was aggregating reports and images as they came in. (more…)
