Additional info from Roseville PD:

At 8:04 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, Roseville Police received a call about a pickup driver who was following another vehicle closely, squealing his tires and driving in a very reckless manner in the areas of Junction Boulevard and Washington Boulevard. The caller said that the pickup driver had stopped at a recycling area on Washington Boulevard across from the Placer County Fairgrounds.

Officers responded to the recycling area and contacted the pickup driver, Oleg Tarasuk. Suddenly the suspect gunned his engine and started to drive away. One of the officers drove his patrol car in the suspect's path to prevent him from leaving, and the suspect used his pickup to push the patrol car out of the way, then drove back onto southbound Washington Boulevard. Officers got back into their cars to follow him, and came upon him involved in a collision at the intersection of Washington and Main Street. His pickup had collided with three other vehicles and struck a pedestrian, Mr. Delacampa, who died at the scene. The suspect and one of the other drivers were transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Tarasuk was treated and released to Roseville Police custody, and was booked into jail on the charges listed above.

The intersection of Washington Boulevard and Main Street remained closed until approximately 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning while investigators from Roseville's Major Accident Investigation Team examined the scene.
