JFC Pajama Run 2008
What can we say...if you missed it, you really missed it. With everyone sporting their PJ's, the club met up at McDonalds on Pocket and I5. From there we headed south to Lodi where we arrived at our first destination for our progressive dinner, Carls Jr's. Corvette enthusiest or not, your head is going to turn when you see the Carls drive thru lined with glistening Corvettes and crazy people running around in their PJ's in the middle of the day. The cars parked and the lawn chairs came out as members broke out their vittles and socialized in the parking lot...talk about a twist on "tailgating". We mounted back up, made our way through Lodi over to the 99 where we headed north. In Elk Grove we found ourselves at In and Out Burger for our main course. When then headed back out 99 to Business 80 and up to Roseville for desert at Sonic Burger where the run culminated. Amongst the laughter and socializing, everone indulged in banna splits, malts, shakes and other delectable deserts. (13.07.2008, 149 Photos)

Industrial Fire, Pacific Corrugated Pipe Company
Around 3pm today, a large industrial fire broke out in the industrial area near Fruitridge and Power Inn. Engines, Trucks, Battalion Chiefs, Ambulances and other support apparatus responded from all over Sacramento to aid in containing the blaze. Upon our arrival in the area, deep black towering smoke clouds belched from the area. Fire crews went into a defensive containment mode by laying large supply water lines and deluging the blaze with arial fire apparatus. The inferno was contained in short order and traffic moved freely again down Power Inn. With the high winds that were present and the wind the fire makes on it's own, this fire could have been a nightmare. Thanks to rapid responding and well trained fire crews, the conflagration was managed, contained and extinguished without further complications. (12.05.2008, 9 Photos)

Street Legal Fun Drags
The roar of the engines, the smoke in the air and the smell of burnt rubber let you know you were at Sacramento Raceway. Wednesday night at the Raceway is affectionately known as "Run What You Brung" night. Excitement fills the air when people from all over NorCal bring their "rides" and pair them up. Motorcycles to imports...yes, even a VW buss, you can see it all...you can even race your stock Dodge Ram truck. But the lighthearted excitement shifts to a tense, respectful awe when the line of Corvettes roll through the gate and in pairs, take their positions at the pole. When the tree lit up and the pedals dropped, the sound in the air commanded attention as the 'Vettes launched out of the staging area and catapulted down the strip. Keep an eye on our events calendar for the next Corvette grudge match at Sacramento Raceway...YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!! (15.08.2007, 122 Photos)

Pony Express Re-ride 2007
It’s romantic! It’s daring! It’s adventurous! It’s legendary! It’s the Pony Express! 147 years after the first riders headed cross country carrying the mail, the Pony Express still captures the imagination of people all over the world. Movies, documentaries, books and ride re-creations are still being produced today. In the US, the National Pony Express Association stages a re-ride each June, relaying commemorative letters from rider to rider over the 1,966 mile Pony Express National Historic Trail. There are also re-rides conducted as far away as Czechoslovakia and Australia.
