A high-speed chase that started in West Sacramento, early Tuesday morning, as a traffic stop. The suspect took off and lead officers on a wild ride down Highway 50, before exiting at Howe Avenue. The chase continued down the American River Bike Trail with the suspect ramming the gate at Cadillac Drive and continued down the bike trail past Watt Avenue. The suspect then double backed and exited the bikepath back on the road at Spanos Court. Officers brought the chase to an end utilizing a PIT maneuver (essentially forcing the suspects vehicle to spin-out) at the intersection of Hurley Way and Bell Street. No one was injured and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
