South Sacramento residential debris fire

South Sacramento, CA  | Firefighters quickly extinguished a debris fire in front of a South Sacramento home Wednesday morning.

Fire in front of South Sacramento home under investigation.

Sacramento City Fire responded to a report of a structure fire early Wednesday morning in  the 2100 block of Bernard Way.  When firefighters arrived, they found a debris fire next to the front porch of the residence and quickly extinguished the blaze.  The fire was reported by a neighbor who came home and saw the flames.   The witness attempted to wake the residents to no avail by banging on their window.  He stated that the flames were 8 to 10 feet high and lit up the whole front of the house. There were no injuries and no obvious damage to the home.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Intoxicated Barricaded Subject in Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights, CA  | Citrus Heights Police have arrested an armed and Intoxicated subject who barricaded himself in a home  on Farmgate Way in Citrus Heights late Tuesday evening.

The subject armed himself with a gun was uncooperative with authorities.  Citrus Heights Police temporarily evacuated some homes in the area of the home where the subject was barricaded.

Arsonist strikes off Watt and Longview

Sacramento, CA | Arson fires set near equestrian barns.

Firefighters search for evidence of arson where three fires were set in North Highlands area.

Approximately 9:34 PM Sunday evening, CHP receved a 911 call for a fire in the area of Longview Drive and Watt Ave. There were also reports that a fire was burning in brush and headed towards a barn where there were many horses. When firefighters arrived, they found at least three fires that had been started. All fires were quickly extinguished before they reached the barn area. A spokesman for Sac Metro Fire stated that the fires are under investigation. He also stated that the fires were set in succession along a trail but far enough apart where it could only lead to the conclusion of arson.

Early Morning Mass Casualty Incident

News_100918_VehicleOffOverpass_Mav-7.JPGSacramento Police are investigating an early morning Car Accident involving an SUV full of passengers that left the the freeway overpass and crash landed onto X Street at 28th.  Several passengers were taken via ambulance to the hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to critical.

SacMav has learned that police have discovered a gun and believe that some of the passengers are confirmed gang members and one may have a gunshot wound to the arm according to Sacramento Police Spokesman Norm Leong.

Vehicle Versus Pedestrian at Citrus Heights Bar

Several Arrests made in the incident at Sand Bar, however the vehicle that hit the female victim is still at large.

A minor fender bender lead to an altercation outside the “SandBar” night club in Citrus Heights early Friday morning.  During the altercation a female subject broke through the back window of a vehicle. while are sketchy, but witnesses say the driver of the vehicle then knocked her down with the car and then ran over her legs. Three male subjects were detained and the female was transported to the hospital via paramedics with moderate injuries.

The vehicle which hit the female is still at large.

Woman Gunned down in South Sacramento

The Vehicle sits running as police conduct their investigation into the Murder of an Elk Grove woman.

Sacramento, CA | A 26 year old Female is gunned down at a South Sacramento gas station.

Around 2:26 Saturday morning, Sacramento Sheriffs Department responded to reports of a shooting in South Sacramento.  Responding deputies discovered the body of a 26 year old woman in a vehicle.  A passenger in the vehicle told authorities the victim was originally shot at the FasTrip Gas Station on the corner of Florin and Power Inn Rd.  A large group of people had gathered at the Fastrip Gas Station, which is typical for a Friday or Saturday night,  when an altercation occurred, shots were fired and the woman was hit.  She drove around the corner to Blackhawk and Palmer House Drive where she died from her injuries.  Sacramento Sheriffs Department is searching for suspects and asking anyone who may have information to contact detectives.

Residential robbery inspired by Craigslist listing

Sacramento, CA | A downtown man and his girlfriend were bound and robbed in their home after posting an ad on Craigslist and allowing potential buyers to come to their home.

Orian Dyllan posted an ad on Craigslist. He and his girlfriend found themselves bound and robbed at gunpoint.

Wednesday afternoon, Sacramento Police Department received a call from a downtown resident on 11th St., stating that subjects had bound him with clear packing tape at gun point in his home, and robbed him of about $7k in silver coins. SacPD is now taking a report from the victim and canvasing the area of 11th and S st. Per the victim, he posted an add on Craigslist to sell some silver coins. He was contacted by the suspects and agreed to let them come to his home to view the coins. He stated that the two African American men, came in to look at the coins. The victims, Orian and Lisa, described one suspect as somewhat chunky and the other as tall and skinny, both in their mid 20′s. The suspects pulled out a gun and bound him and his girlfriend, Lisa, loosely. As soon as the suspects left, he was able to escape and call police. A next door neighbor stated she heard some yelling and mention of a gun.

Sacramento Police Department would like to remind Craigslist posters to meet would be buyers in a public location such as a coffee shop or restaurant. They encourage you to never have the buyers come to your home. If the viewing of the items being sold takes place in a very public location, you are less likely to be robbed and victimized.

The suspects remain at large and SacPD urges any one with information to call 911 right away.

Drive-in credit union

Sacramento, CA | A Sacramento credit union unexpectidly becomes a drive in when a driver crashes into the structure when attempting to park.

Credit union involuntarily becomes drive-in when driver crashes into office.

While attempting to park her vehicle at the California Community Credit Union, the driver of a silver Acura, hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. She drove the vehicle straight through the, mostly glass wall of the credit union. Just minutes before she crashed her vehicle into the bank, an employee was sitting at the desk directly on the inside of that glass wall. Sac City Fire Batalion Chief Williams stated that had she still been sitting there when the car came through, they probably would have arrived to find her under the vehicle. Only because of timing, no one was hurt in this incident.

Two homes tragically burn in South Sacramento

Sacramento, CA | Early Tuesday morning, two South Sacramento families were awakened to find their homes ablaze.

Sac Metro Fire and Cosumnes Fire Departments were called to Liscarney Way in the area of Vintage Park Dr. and Calvine Rd., for two homes burning.  When firefighters arrived, they found two, two story homes with the second floor of both homes well involved with fire.  All family members made it safely out of the homes after neighbors awakened them.  According to Sacramento Metro Fire Assistant Chief Rice, both homes were severely damaged and the families would not be able to inhabit them.  The Red Cross was called to assist the families. SacPress Contributing Writer and Photographer, Kati Garner, was one of the Red Cross members who responded to aid the families.  The blaze is currently under investigation.
