Cold Weather ahead

Sacramento CA | Very cold weather ahead. Bundle up.

The National Weather Service is advising that we are no where close to being out of winter weather patterns yet. The temperatures are going to remain crisp and cold throughout the weekend. There has already been rumors of snow in San Francisco.

Friday Jetstream model by Accuweather

The “Jetstreeam” gives a good picture of the dynamics of the weather movement as a whole and why it is that this cold air and unstable pattern is swrilling and hanging around. In Friday’s Jetstream model, provided by Accuweather, you will notice a somewhat of a loop developing over Central /Northern California.

Saturday Jetstream model by Accuweather

As we look to Saturday’s model you will notice that that loop becomes more  dramatic, just sucking that cold air in from the North and holding it over the area.

Over the next few days, you may want to cover any sensitive outdoor plants. Water pipes could also become frozen and potentially burst. If you are going out of town, leaving your furnace set at a minimum temperature is advisable to keep pipes from rupturing while you are away. Read more »
