On Saturday, February 15, 2014, at approximately 2:38 p.m., officers responded to a residence regarding a report of an infant not breathing.
Officers rushed to the home, along with the Sacramento Fire Department who declared the 3-month-old female child deceased at the scene.
The specific circumstances as to how the child passed away were not immediately clear and detectives were called out to assist with the investigation. CSI also responded to assist with documenting the scene. A cause of death is pending the coroner’s investigation. (more…)
911 dispatchers began to receive calls of shots fired in the area of 21st Avenue and 35th Street Tuesday evening, then a call came in that a subject had been shot, said Sergeant David Nasca, Sacramento Police Department.
When officers arrived they found a woman in her 50′s had been shot in the chest. She was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Nasca said. (more…)
The driver of a Corvette was killed and one other person was injured in a two car collision Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of College Town Drive and La Riviera Drive, Officer Doug Morse, spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department said.
The driver of the Corvette was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. (more…)
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fiery crash that claimed two lives early Saturday morning in the Campus Commons area of Sacramento.
When firefighters arrived on the scene of a solo vehicle accident on Howe Ave early Saturday morning, it was already too late for the occupants of the vehicle.
The incident occurred in the median of Howe Ave between American River Drive and Swathmore Drive.
“Officers responded to a solo vehicle collision. The car appeared to have been travelling southbound on Howe Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck a tree in the center divider just south of American River Drive. (more…)

A fatal light rail train vs pedestrian incident has occurred near Downtown Sacramento.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Sac Fire crews, medics and SacPD were dispatched to the area of 12th Street and North B for a report of an RT involved incident. According to radio reports, when crews arrived a person was trapped under the train and was soon pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. (more…)
Streets were blocked for several hours as the homicide scene was investigated.
The shooting occurred at the Capitol Manor Apartments at 1701 17th Street in the Midtown area of Sacramento. The call came in around 3 a.m. Tuesday as a disturbance said Officer Michelle Gigante, PIO for the Sacramento Police Department.
“Officers arrived on scene and contacted three people,” Gigante said, “one who was possibly shot.” (more…)

A quiet, sleeping apartment complex in Natomas was awakened to gunfire early Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Bankside Way.

Sacramento, CA | Detectives are looking for answers in the wake of an early morning Del Paso Heights homicide.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning, Sacramento Police Officers were called to the 2500 block of Traction Avenue for a report of a subject that had been shot.
