The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fiery crash that claimed two lives early Saturday morning in the Campus Commons area of Sacramento.
When firefighters arrived on the scene of a solo vehicle accident on Howe Ave early Saturday morning, it was already too late for the occupants of the vehicle.
The incident occurred in the median of Howe Ave between American River Drive and Swathmore Drive.
“Officers responded to a solo vehicle collision. The car appeared to have been travelling southbound on Howe Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck a tree in the center divider just south of American River Drive. (more…)
We have been shying away from mainstream media, for the most part, today as we were taking a look at the Colby Fire impacting the city of Glendora. Rather, we have been focusing on the people directly involved and following their social media feeds. As Sacramento’s Public Safety news aggregators, the question that has been facing us all day is, what if this happened in the downtown/midtown area? It is very possible and it brought this Southern California situation very close to home.
We also talked with an aircraft mechanic who works on the Calfire planes; we were told that at least two air tankers and two firefighting airplanes were dispatched out of McClellan to the Colby Fire. (more…)
Sacramento Fire Department and Sacramento Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle into a commercial structure Saturday night just before 11 p.m. on Broadway just East of Martin Luther King (MLK) Blvd.
When firefighters arrived they found two vehicles up in the planter of the new residential building on the southeast corner of the intersection; one vehicle was on fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. (more…)
Arson investigator digs into what is being considered a very suspicious series of fires at a Citrus Heights home.
Metro firefighters were called to a Citrus Heights home for the second time in a day for a structure fire in separate locations of the home several hours apart Thursday.
Neighbors say the same thing happened a few years ago and it feels like deja vu all over.
In 2005 neighbors say the exact same thing happened; a fire occurred earlier in the day and was put out completely. Later in the day another fire occurred this time destroying the home. The home was torn down and rebuilt. Thursday, almost the exact same scenario occurred. (more…)

Another grass fire occurred along the Two Rivers Bike Trail / American River area.
