Early Saturday morning, a vehicle traveling south on highway 99 from Florin was traveling at a slow rate of speed and straddling the slow lane and shoulder at approx 65MPH according to CHP. (more…)


Firefighters dump water on the industrial blaze in a defensive mode

Sacramento Fire Department crews arrived on scene right around 11:30 Wednesday night on Otto Circle at an industrial laundry business, Dust-Tex Services Inc. Chris Ortiz, Battalion Chief with Sacramento Fire Department, stated that when he and Engine 56 arrived, that most of the building was on fire. (more…)


Firefighters work from an aerial ladder to make roof safe so they can enter the structure.

Sacramento, CA | When a fire truck crew arrived on scene of a house ablaze Thursday afternoon, they had to wait for an engine with water to arrive due to budget cuts.

Thursday afternoon, Sacramento firefighters were called out to a blaze in the Oak Park area. When Truck 6 arrived in three minutes (trucks carry no water) the structure was fully involved with fire. The first engine, Engine 10 (carrying water), arrived in 6-8 minutes; Engine 6 (who likely would have arrived with Truck 6) was browned out due to budget cuts. (more…)

Sacramento Police Department responded to several burglaries downtown Tuesday night / Wednesday morning

Sacramento, CA | Burglers struck several businesses in downtown Sacramento and nearby areas Monday night/Tuesday morning per Sacramento Police Department.

From the police log:

11-326739, Burglary, 5800 block of 19th Ave, 1159,
The victim returned home to find a subject inside of his house. The subject ran to a waiting vehicle and was last seen west on 19th Ave and then south on 58th St.

Elk Grove, CA | An Elk Grove man dies hours after a SWAT raid at his home. Police state unrelated.

Fire and paramedics were called to a residence in Elk Grove where a SWAT operation had taken place earlier in the day.

When rescuers arrived they stated CPR was in progress and requested additional resources along with law enforcement, per unconfirmed radio traffic. (more…)
